A QUICK TUESDAY DINNER FOR THE COOK
Every cook needs a break. So for Tuesday dinner, Barb reminded me we had some Feta cheese in the fridge. A Greek salad made with what. So off to Sobeys and bought a barbecue chicken with chunky seasoned potatoes and a baguette, dinner was simple and good. With the leftover chicken, I can even make Barb a chicken salad sandwich for her lunch. I have to keep my working woman or as I call her- my golden goose- well fed. Now what to make for a Wednesday dinner. The dilemma of being the cook!!

GRANPA LOVES A CHILD'S BIRTHDAY GET TOGETHER
Yesterday it was a fun time at one of grandson's birthday family get together. He turned 6! Burgers, sausages and hot dogs on the barbecue along with veggies &dip, potato salad, Greek salad, fruit platter and of course the birthday cake, it was a simple but tasty meal. A burger with all the trimmings- tomato, pickle, onion, ketchup and mustard- sort of a preview to the warmer weather where more barbecues will prevail. The best thing for this cook well is I did not have to cook! Going out and enjoying a family time, eating well and not cooking is rather pleasurable. Granpa loves to cook but also likes a night off too!
Of course the cherry tomatoes with boccicni were a hit too!

PREPARING FOR A COTTAGE WEEKEND
Friends of Barb and me invited us to their cottage. Another couple is coming too. Everyone does some meal preparation. I have been busy the last two days. Prepared the sauce with meatballs and sausage yesterday. It will be served with penne lisce. Taking the ingredients for a Greek Salad. The rapini salad and the roasted peppers are ready and in travel containers. I must remember to get the Feta cheese for the salad from the fridge. Perhaps, Barb will take some pictures of the meal. Dessert is a store bought chocolate cake to help celebrate two August birthdays of our friends- Rose and Mary. Previous posts will provide the recipes. Now to decide what to have for breakfast!
