GRANPA SUGGESTS SHEET PAN COOKING

Okay I do not suggest it. But my daughter Sonya on her House of Kerrs blog has some good ideas and one wonderful recipe for sheet pan cooking.

She is trying new healthy recipes for her family. She is using the help of her husband Andrew in the kitchen. By the way he is a good cook too.
The only problem is I have been given a taste of that good cooking.

GRANPA ENJOYED SUPER BOWL WINGS

I like my food plain. So Barb found a recipe from Canadian Living on making wings for Super Bowl Feb. 2.
Simple.
Roll the wings in flour. Salt and pepper to taste.
Since they could stick when cooking, use parchment paper on the cookie sheet.
45-50 minutes at 400F. Turn midway through.
They were crispy and good.
I like to use a little plum sauce for dipping.
A couple of slices of pizza. Day old pizza from Grande Cheese reheated since Barb bought it  a few days ago. It was in the freezer. A small one which was good for the two of us.
Barb had tostitos and dip. I did not as I am not fussy about them.
We will probably have wings again soon. As Barb is always looking for simple meals for me to enjoy.

GRANPA IS PLANNING FOR SUPER BOWL SUNDAY EATING

So I asked Barb what are we doing for Super Bowl Sunday? She bought us some chicken wings to prepare. I need to think about what other items should be on the menu. Barb reminded me that celery and carrot sticks are a given!! I do not need cake. Barb also bought some Longos bambino sausages that I like. Usually ribs go with chicken but sausages would be okay too. Maybe some tostitos and dip would be good. Barb does not watch the Football. She just likes the half time show and well the food. She will be preparing it so she should get to eat it too. It breaks up the winter by thinking about a feast for Super Bowl. I will get Barb to take some pictures for the occasion.
