GOODBYE TO 2024

 Celebrating Christmas with the family.

New Year's will be a party of one.

Bought some goodies at one of my favourite stores- Longos.

Some Ribs. A garden salad. Bananas. Nanaimo bars.

Garlic Bread for the oven grill.

Ready made garlic mashed potatoes.

Cheaper than take out and some items to use in the New Year like my shrimp ring.

Wine and liqueurs in the house. Probably toast the New Year with some amaretto.

What food journeys will I make in 2025? Time will tell.

CHRISTMAS 2024- GRANDPA WAS MISSED!

So I always put an extra Christmas Cracker in the spot where Adolph would sit. Sophia notices it and loves the idea. I try to keep him in the event by not being morbid.

The appetizer table included veggies, pickles, fruit, hot appetizers, cheese and crackers.

Sophia took a photo of the food.

Along with the traditional turkey, my homemade stuffing, gravy and mashed potatoes, other dishes included peas the way Adolph made them, corn, brussel sprouts, sweet potato, carrots sliced,  fennel, roasted red peppers and Italian sweet sausages from Longos.. Fresh cranberry sauce as a garnish.

I made candy bags with goodies as name tags. The gum was a hit. Beverages of choice- white and red wine, water, pop for the kids and a vodka-cranberry drink.

Dessert was tuxedo cake, strawberry shortcake, vanilla ice cream, cookies and dishes of candies. If wanted a candy cane as well. Coffee for all who wanted one.

Yes there is always fruit.

A good feast and family fun. Christmas 2024.
